PFR supports community members directly or indirectly affected by crimes or social distress through Sociotherapy/group therapy sessions as a platform for them to share their experiences and help one another to heal their wounds.

Prison Fellowship Rwanda uses this approach to help people in group format whereby members are given an opportunity to share their life experiences and help their companions to solve problems, heal the wounds as well as solving their own by the help of trained community facilitators. The approach not only heals wounds of the past, but also restores hope, advances their economic development and builds social cohesion and ownership among group and community members.
